Progress not perfection
Progress
Each day is a brand new day, 24 hours in which to embrace recovery. The very nature of the program, and The Steps, tells me I am far from the perfect individual that my old egotistical drunken self would have had me believe. There is an irony in removing my self from the equation in order for me to improve but in handing today over to my Higher Power and working the suggested vigorous program of spiritual action I may make progress in recovery today.
